You will have 24 hours to design and develop a product from scratch! We will provide food and sleeping mats and our sponsors will give you some cool hardware and APIs to play with!
You are free to make anything you desire! There are no limits on what APIs you can use, or what hardware your solution must run on. Anything goes!
We will give you everything your team needs to keep coding. This includes: food, drinks, coffee and of course - stickers, t-shirts and other goodies from our sponsors.
Teams with the best ideas will receive cool prizes including gadgets, Amazon vouchers and internship opportunities. So don't miss out!
Hackathons are group programming events, where students sharing a keen interest in technology form groups to create unique and innovative projects in just 24 hours - a "jam session for makers".
The St Andrews Computing Society connects students who share an interest in computing and technology. We hold social events that empower hackers to meet new people and learn new skills.
St Andrews is a small town located in Fife, Scotland. You can get here easily by plane (via Edinburgh Airport), train (via Leuchars station) and bus (via Dundee Seagate station). Feel free to E-Mail us for advice on travelling to and from St Andrews.
You should bring your own laptop and any other gear you need to run your application. While a quiet rest area will be provided with sleeping mats, you should bring a sleeping bag for increased comfort. A change of clothes and a towel could come in handy as there is a shower on-site.
Don't worry - we will give you plenty of time to meet new people, discuss ideas and organize teams. However, you are also free to participate without a team!
We welcome participants with or without programming experience. Hackathons are all about learning, and we will do everything to make your time worthwhile.
